In Oswald Chambers' famous devotional 'My Utmost For His Highest', he had challenged me to be more intimately seeking God through prayer. As I spent more with God, at one moment it dawned on me the profound fact that I can really help others all around the country and the globe in an instant by going right to the Creator with a prayer. It struck me as such a simple, and at the same time profound, fact. This one ended up the title track on the Cross the World project of 1991. It contained several new cuts and quite a few live solo tracks.

Cross The World
Loaded my pickup truck with one beat-up guitar
Down the road a thousand miles but still I don't get very far
Can't fly a plane; can't ride a train
Can't hail a cab to take me there
This destination can't be reached without a prayer
chorus Cross the world
I can hear the Spirit calling
Cross the world
I can travel on my knees
Give me vision far beyond what I can see
And lead me cross the world
Still is the night but for the rushing of the road
Roll down my window catch the fragrance
Of the sage and desert rose
The winds of heaven are at my back
Blowing steady through my soul
A quiet whisper and I believe your will unfolds
chorus
bridge Let me soar like an eagle
Being lifted by the sky
Beyond these human shackles
Let me use your wings to fly
