Great Escape

Notes from Joel:

Written for the summer theme at Hume Lake for the last of eight terrific summers we ministered there. The moments were fun and powerful and the decisions in students lives were life changing. God proved Himself over and over.

Had a blast recording this one - fun guitar stuff and great energy. Recorded at Coyote Run Studios near Spokane, WA in 1994. Released as a hidden track (#11) on the Rise Up! America worship project.

Credits: Joel Weldon - Lead vocal, guitars, bass; Wendel Morden - Keyboards; Timothy Jones - Drums; Steve Mills - Background vocals; Chris Merkling - Background vocals

Great Escape

Blood pressure's rising
Your mind is fighting for control
Not too surprising
Feels like the whole thing's gonna blow
Get out, break free, from this insanity

chorus
To the great escape
You can leave it all behind
If you make a break
Take a chance and you will find
One way to freedom
It's the great escape

So much confusion
It's got you climbing up the wall
Lost in illusion
Out on the edge you're going to fall
Get out, break free, from this insanity

chorus

bridge
He is reality
He took the fall
He wants to make you free
So he gave it all

chorus
