Revelation 2:4-5 says "You have forsaken your first love. Remember the
height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first."
My friend Chris Merkling came to me with a rough version of this song that reflected my heart for America.
We sat together and crafted the final version of the song that has become a standard at many PromiseKeeper rallies and
Harvest Crusades. My good friend Dennis Agajanian heard the song before I'd even released it on Catch Fire! America and he
said "I've gotta have that song!" The rest was history. It ended up as a full music video played on Country Music Television
(CMT) for a season and was covered by radio across the US. Most of all, America needs prayer because America needs
Jesus!
First released on Catch Fire! America (1992). Recorded at Coyote Run Studios, spring of '92.

Lord, Give Us America
chorus Lord, give us America
We ask for her by name
Lord, give us America
Light a fire, fan the flame
Send us out to harvest
The amber waves of grain
Lord, give us America
In Jesus Holy name
Once a nation under God
So willing to obey
Guided and protected by your hand
Now we're like a wayward child
We've wandered far away
Won't you save this lost and dying land
chorus
Father you can heal this land
Where heart's have turned to stone
If we'll only bow and humbly pray
For you're the God who set us free
And made this land our home
And you're still the Lord of liberty today
