This song was written out of the desire to be a man or woman who is willing to do whatever God
would have you do, wherever he would have you do it. The apostle Paul said "...for I have learned to be content
in whatever state I am.." (Phil 4:11). It seems to me that this is a key secret to a joyful Christian life...
that no matter where we find ourselves, we can be content in even the circumstances we didn't choose for ourselves.
I've known some people like Jason in this song and I think you have as well.

Willing
Jason took a wife seven years ago
Two little girls were born right in a row
Got a job at the mill down the road not too far
Glad to drive his ten year old economy car
chorus 'Cause He's willing, willing to obey
No matter what he hears all the others say
Wherever God leads is where he's going to stay
Content to be used where he is today
They call him 'Joe Christian' at the factory
They taunt him and tease him, it's a daily routine
But they'll come to him when it's time to confide
When the problems they face finally outweigh their pride
chorus
Sometimes late at night, he'll rise up from their bed
Down the hall to his little girls' room
Slip through the door past the rocking horse "Red"
Brush his sandpaper hand 'cross the curls on their heads
He'll go down on his knees in the silver moonlight
With a humble mans heart raise his eyes to the sky
"Lord, unworthy of all these blessings am I
Oh God, keep your hand on this family of mine"
